HAMILTON trainer Lorraine Goodwin, who won her first feature race at Mount Gambier back in January with Comet To Burn in the 305-metre Razza Racing Maiden, is enjoying a good month with her greyhounds.
At Tara Raceway on May 4 Goodwin was successful with Mini To Burn prior to landing her first double on May 7 with Sand To Burn and Tinker Vogue.
Then on May 16 Sins To Burn won for her at Warrnambool prior to Flame To Burn opening her winning account a couple of days later at the local track at start number 17.
Mini To Burn and Sand To Burn are by US sire SH Avatar out of 650 metre Shepparton winner Strength To Wyn, a daughter of Barcia Bale x Kirabilli Darcy.
Tinker Vogue and Sins To Burn, by Aston Kimetto, are out of Slew Left, a beautifully bred daughter of Barcia Bale and Lochinvar Vogue and a winner over 600 metres at The Meadows, 650 metres at Shepparton and 660 metres at Bendigo.
Flame To Burn is also by SH Avatar out of Sandown Park and The Meadows winner Spring To Wyn – by Spring Gun x Kirabilli Indy.
Goodwin said she was kept busy on the five-acre property she runs in partnership with her son Kyle, 34.
“Most of the greyhounds that we race were also bred here,” she said.
“And with four unraced litters also on the property, we certainly don’t have much spare time.”
