LEWISTOWN — The last site for the Pennsylvania state tournaments has been posted. Pennsylvania State Commissioner Jim Windner announced that the 15-year-old state tournament will be held in Williamsport.
The other two tournament sites are in Williamsport for the 14-year-olds and Kennett Square for 13-year-olds.
The 15-year-olds will start playing on July 8-13. Last year, West End of Williamsport beat Mifflin County in the state finals in Scranton. However, Mifflin County was the host of the Middle-Atlantic Regionals and came out on top and moved onto the World Series in Williston, N.D.
As 13-year-olds in 2021, MIfflin County beat West End for the state title, which was played in McAlisterville. Manager of the 2023 Mifflin County 15-year-olds is Belltown’s John Pannizzo. The winner of the state tournament will advance to the regionals, which will again be hosted by Mifflin County at the Armagh Memorial Field in late July.
