A manhunt has been launched after a woman claimed she was attacked on a popular Adelaide walking trail.
Police were called to the southern suburbs Viaduct Track, in the Shepherds Hill Recreation Park at St Marys, just after 3.30pm after reports a woman had been indecently assaulted.
The victim, who cannot be identified, was uninjured before the suspect fled.
Despite several hours of officers searching the area, including with police dogs, the suspect remains on the run as Southern Districts CIB detectives investigate.
He is described as being of caucasian appearance, about 163cm tall, slim build, with long dark hair tied back in a ponytail.
He was wearing a black T-shirt, sunglasses and jeans and had a birthmark on his left arm.
Police urged any anyone who sees a man matching this description in the area is asked to call the Police Assistance Line on 131444.
Meanwhile, a woman has been charged after spitting at a police officer in Adelaide’s south on Friday night.
Police were called to a Commercial Road OTR service station, at Sheidow Park after reports a drunk woman had assaulted a man and acting in a disorderly manner.
Patrols found her at a second Commercial Road service station, the adjacent Quick n Clean Car Wash.
Police will allege the attack occurred as patrols arrested her, during which the woman spat on an officer.
The woman, 42, of Grange was charged with assault, aggravated assault on prescribed emergency worker, prohibited act with biological material and possessing equipment to use with a controlled drug.
She was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court next month.
