Residents of an affluent Gold Coast suburb woke to a bad hangover of a ‘wild’ and ‘out of control’ party overnight. Watch the video
Residents of an affluent Gold Coast suburb woke to find their street trashed after what was described as a “wild” and “out of control” party overnight.
Food wrappers, bits of tarpaulin, empty cans and eskies were found littered throughout Anzac Parade, Burleigh Heads on Sunday morning in the aftermath of the gathering.
A video, which circulated on social media, showed a house on the same street lit up with festoon lights and music pumping just hours earlier.
A resident, who asked not to be named, took to Facebook with pictures and a description of the mess after what she described as a “wild street festival”.
“Food wrappers, half-eaten burgers and chips, alcohol cans, eskies, cups, and what appears to be portaloos and tarps with cement blocks,” the woman said.
“I hope no one trips on those cement blocks, they’re completely blocking the footpath.
“And probably avoid the area with little puppers on a walk because they could easily eat the rubbish.
“It’s absolutely everywhere down the whole street – even on other people’s lawns.”
Police have been contacted for comment.
