Fairytales are nothing without a setting, where ‘love at first sight’ take place and romances find their new beginnings.
For Pranesh Kumar and his queen, Ashley, their love ignited at the food joint, Burger King.
While Ashley,25, and Pranesh,28, first laid their eyes on each other at Burger King, they later connected on Instagram when Pranesh found her account.
“We messaged back and forth for a while before meeting,” Ashley said.
“My first impression of him was ‘gosh he’s tall but definitely good looking,” Ashley said.
“His first impression of me according to his description was ‘my oh my, jackpot.”
On a Thursday afternoon had over apple pie and tea, they shared their first date and bonded over many things and opened up about their lives. During their dating stage, they would spend everyday together and they felt a natural connection for each other.
“I knew he was the one when I started praying about it and would hear a voice tell me, he is the one you’ll marry.
“But there were other things that made me realise he was the one, like when he came home to have lunch that mum and I prepared and when my dad called him over to have a talk.
“He knew I was the one when he took me home on the first of January 2021 for a family BBQ in Lautoka.”
The proposal took place at Wailoaloa Beach Club by the beachside as the sun was setting, where an arch was set-up with flowers all around. Pranesh got on his knee and asked Ashley to marry him and sealed the deal almost two years after they met.
“The wedding took place on April 22, 2023 however we had our legal done on the August 19, 2022 during our engagement ceremony,” Ashley said.
“Our wedding was what I had imagined it to be. Our decorator ZIB Events did a good job, our wedding cake was exactly what we had asked for thanks to Cakeology Delight.
“I wanted to do a desi bridal look, so I wore a beige lehenga with jewels all around it. My jewelry was all American Diamond and Emerald stones and my hubby wore a stunning tuxedo in dark gray/blue.
“I was a nervous wreck to be honest. I had a meltdown and started crying (lol) because I get bad anxiety when I know there’s going to be a lot of people, meanwhile he was all smiles and chilling.”
The couple shared that their most memorable experiences would be the road trips they made in January in New Zealand where they made a week long trip to Taupo, Rotorua, Wellington, Napier and many other places.
“Our advice would be to pray about your plans and always seek guidance from God, love each other and be sure of the person you choose and always have respect for one another.”
