The Gympie flag was flying in Toowoomba early last week when Gympie Golf Club Ladies member Bev Maddison and former junior Anne Louise Kelly were among 300 ladies who played in the Queensland Country Women’s Championships.
Anne Louise and her playing partner Cheryl Matsen were runners up in the Division 2 Foursomes.
Anne Louise was also the daily winner of Division 1 Nett competition on the second day (and yes I am a proud mum!).
From all reports Bev had a great time except that it was freezing cold and I have been told it was minus 2 when the ladies teed off at 7am on Tuesday.
You have to be either really keen or maybe just mad!
On Wednesday, 10 May, in almost perfect golfing weather, the Ladies played a Single Stroke competition and competed for the Wednesday May Monthly Medal.

Yoey Coogan will be smiling all the way to enjoy her coffee compliments of ‘Little h Café’, Southside.
Saturday, 13 May, ladies played a Single Stableford.
