FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — A popular Fort Myers Beach family destination is now being sold off.
The owners of Jungle Golf on San Carlos Boulevard have listed the property for sale, asking for $2,224,900.
It’s just the latest result of people and businesses waving the white flag and cashing out after Hurricane Ian delivered a devastating blow to Southwest Florida.
Walt Thomas, the real estate agent who’s managing the sale, told ABC7 that Hurricane Ian is the sole purpose behind the sale.
According to Thomas, the owners from Colorado are selling the property, but not the name ‘Jungle Golf’. If a buyer wants to continue operating the property as a mini golf course, they’ll need to rename the course.
Since 1978, the miniature golf course has been a destination for tourists visiting Fort Myers Beach.
A message on the Jungle Golf website said, “Due to damages from Hurricane Ian, JungleGolf will remain closed at this time. We are working hard to have the course open and ready as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
However, the course will not reopen under the current ownership.
Those still looking to get their fix of mini golf while visiting Fort Myers Beach are still able to do just that.
Smugglers Cover Adventure Park is open just a few doors down on San Carlos Boulevard. After making repairs from Hurricane Ian, they opened their doors back up on October 24, 2022.
