Punters are generally loathe to use the ‘m’ word, but the Punters Inside Run team are all firmly in the corner of the hot favourite in Saturday’s Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1200m).
The reigning Everest winner is $1.80 favourite with Betr to take out the $1.5 million Doomben 10,000 (1200m).
The Clayton Douglas-trained Giga Kick will start from barrier 4 and be ridden by star hoop Craig Williams after the pair combined to win the Group 1 All Aged Stakes at Randwick last month.
Form analyst Mick Sharkie told this week‘s online episode of Punters Inside Run that Giga Kick looked to have a class edge over his Doomben 10,000 rivals.
“This is a pretty handy field, but Giga Kick is a cut above this lot,” Sharkie said.
“That All Aged win was a reminder of his class and that wicked turn of foot. If anything, this is a shade easier.
“I‘m a huge fan of this horse and when Willo lets him go, I’ll be roaring.”
Sharkie has tipped Giga Kick on top from the James Cummings-trained Aft Cabin ($5.50) and the Bjorn Baker-trained Overpass ($14).
Punters Inside Run host Matthew Campbell has tipped Giga Kick from Aft Cabin and last year‘s winner Mazu, while Punters.com.au form expert James Lamb has Giga Kick on top from Aft Cabin and Vilana.
