The flurry of rumours surrounding Sony’s next PlayStation Showcase has come full circle today, with journalist Jeff Grubb confirming a more definite date for the event. Grubb was the first insider to report last month that Sony was preparing another showcase to go live before Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest (on June 8th).
Insider and former industry member Shinobi602 stated three days ago that numerous game developers are ready to present their games on this occasion. Andy Robinson, the owner of VideoGameChronicles, stated today that the PlayStation Showcase will take place between late May and early June.
The PlayStation Showcase may contain some of the most significant announcements of the year. According to rumours, it will involve the official announcement of Sony’s exclusive relationship with KONAMI on titles such as Silent Hill, the rumoured Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, and possibly Castlevania.
Here are all the summer events coming after PlayStation Showcase

It’s a good guess that Sony will want to show off their largest exclusive coming later this year, Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is set to release sometime in September. We don’t know much about the sequel yet, except that it will involve Peter Parkes, Miles Morales, and Venom.
The PlayStation Showcase might also be the perfect occasion to reveal Naughty Dog’s long-awaited The Last of Us standalone multiplayer game. Fans expected The Last of Us Part II to include an extended version of the first game’s Factions system, but Naughty Dog had much bigger ambitions. The multiplayer game has been characterised as the largest game ever created by the Californian studio, and Neil Druckmann himself confirmed that players would learn a lot more later this year.
