The unnamed millionaire from Queensland, Australia, was resting at work when one of his friends delivered some life-changing news.
He explained that someone in their area, Gladstone, had won the jackpot.
In one stroke of luck, he decided to check his numbers and was shocked to discover he had won one of two £8 million ($15 million) prizes.
According to the report of 7 newshe spoke to The Lott and said, “I was just in the car on my way to buy some smoke, and my mate told me that someone in Gladstone had won first prize in Oz Lotto,
“I thought, ‘Oh, I’ve got the right to be in that draw’.
“Next thing you know, I’m on the phone with you! It was a whirlwind morning.”
His winning numbers were 37, 22, 45, 21, 34, 17 and 5, with additional numbers 47, 41 and 35.
To make the story even more unbelievable, this is the first time he has purchased an item in the game.
When the lottery clerk told him he had won, he yelled, “Stop it, man!
“Unbelievable, thank you!
“I have never even played Oz Lotto before. This is my first time, so I think a little beginner’s luck might play here.
“Oh, I think I might throw up. I need to sit down.
“I’m struggling to handle this, man! Oh my god, I’m a millionaire.”
With all the excitement, he still “didn’t know” what he was going to do with the money.
Ian Chapman, the owner of the newspaper that sold the winning ticket, said: “Customers are also very excited. They love to see that the big prizes take place locally as well.
“We last sold first place winning tickets about three years ago and have sold seven first prize winning tickets since Lotto started in Queensland. This is the first Oz Lotto we sold.
“We congratulate the winner and we hope that they will use it wisely.”
