HATBORO, PA —With the Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer arriving soon, the borough is gearing up to make a splash with two events over the next few days.
On Friday night, the borough will hold the first of five cruises.

The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce is hosting five monthly “Cruising for a Cause” Cruise Nights on the third Friday of each month from May through September.
The cruise starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday on York Road.
Residents are invited to cruise Hatboro with their Hot Rods, cars, trucks, or motorcycles. All vehicles must be street legal and all traffic laws will be strictly enforced. No burnouts are permitted.
The cruise, as its slogan states, does come with a cause.
The Chamber will be collecting food items to fill the borough pantries.
Among the requested donations to assist borough families in need are: Peanut butter, jelly, cans of meat (tuna, chicken) cans of vegetables, tomato sauce, pasta, canned soup, and personal care items.
Please check expiration dates when donating. Drop-off is at the corner of Moreland and York Road. ( Reid Repairs & Artifact Corner). Look for the signs.
Monetary donations are also accepted.
Hatboro Community Day
On Saturday, one of the borough’s main events takes place.
Community Day at Hatboro Memorial Pool, 330 W. Moreland Ave., takes place between Noon and 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 20.
Various organizations and local businesses will be in attendance to host activities, pass out information, and celebrate all things Hatboro, State Rep. Nancy Guenst said.
Residents can bring their bathing suits to swim. The event features a DJ and food. And residents can also purchase their 2023 pool membership passes.
