Alongside Naughton is 197cm tall Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and 206cm tall Rory Lobb – despite spending more time on the wing against Carlton – with the trio combining for 39 goals so far this season.
Naughton said adding Lobb to the forward mix has been beneficial.
“Obviously Lobby was the big inclusion to the team, and I think now it’s working pretty well between the three of us sort of key forwards there,” Naughton told SEN on Thursday morning.
“He’s been more of that lead-up player, whereas I’m probably more of that kick-it-in-long type. I think it’s working well.
“The coaches (trust us) out there if we see a match-up we like and want to try and isolate.
Not all teams have three genuine key defenders, so it works well that when all three of us are on the field, there’ll be some pretty good match-ups that we’ll have a height advantage against.
“We do try to isolate those types of match-ups.”
The Bulldogs went down to the Crows by a single point last year in Ballarat, with Naughton expecting another close contest on Saturday.
“They were pretty good last year – we’ll probably expect the same as they’re going pretty well.
“I think they’re a really good pressure team. They get buy-in from all their players, and have got some super role-players and a couple of stars as well – they’re just really evenly balanced across their whole team.
“Hopefully it’s a good game.”
