John Oliver Barry (Jack) of South Creek Ranch in Chilcoot, CA passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Jack was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on June 20, 1938 and spent most of his youth in Providence, RI. Jack passed on April 14, 2023 at the age of 84. Jack is survived by the mother of his four children, Olga DeRentiis Barry, son John Barry, Jr. (Nancy Foster), daughter Elizabeth Barry Bendix (Brett Bendix), daughter Julie Ireland (Victor Ireland), and son Bill Barry. He leaves behind six siblings, Mary Ann Barry, David Barry, Timothy Barry, Kathleen Forget, Michael Barry, and Peter Barry, six grandchildren, Robin Krause, Brittany Barry, Kevin Carlson, Calvin Carlson, Samuel Barry, and Timothy Barry, and two great grandchildren Aleksandr Krause and Anastasia Krause. Jack was predeceased by his older brother Thomas Barry.
Jack had a long and successful career as a sales engineer in heavy construction and mining industries. He became the owner of Bonanza Fans, a manufacturing company supplying ventilation fans for mines and tunnels. He provided equipment to Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Projects, LA Metro Projects, and the Boston Harbor Project to name a few. Jack presented papers to several mining and ventilation industry organizations and served as an expert witness on multiple occasions.
