State softball power Escanaba made a move up the state rankings for May 16, climbing to second in Division 2 behind Gaylord.
Escanaba entered the week ranked fifth but enjoyed a week that saw the Eskymos earn wins over Kingsford, Grand Rapids Catholic Central, Chelsea, Rockford, Marquette and Gladstone.
The No. 1 teams remained entrenched at the top with Macomb Dakota, Gaylord, Evart and Unionville-Sebewaing holding down the top spots.
