The fashion calendar never stops, and this week the baton has been handed to Sydney, where Fashion Week Australia is currently underway. While it sits outside of the traditional fashion month calendar, it has been building its presence on the international stage, and this season the schedule incorporates 45 designer collections from the likes of Aje, Albus Lumen, Alémais and Maggie Marilyn.
Many of the stand-out brands are known for a relaxed and minimalist take on resortwear, and the street-style scene certainly reflects this, with maxi skirts and oversized blazers leading the charge this season. The colour palette has been muted overall – with showgoers opting for lots of monochrome or tonal looks in buttery creams and rich browns – and most looks seem to revolve around an oversized blazer. When it comes to silhouettes it is all about extremes, with either micro miniskirts or ankle-grazing maxi skirts. Keep scrolling for nine summer outfit ideas to borrow from street-stylers in Sydney.
