Check out some fine winter markets that are popping up around Sydney in the coming days with a bevy of tastes, flavours and experiences that promise to hit the spot.

One of Sydney’s most popular markets has announced its big return for Vivid Sydney. But it’s coming back for one night only so clear your calendar. As part of Vivid’s stacked Food line-up, the buzzy night market will return on Friday, June 16 for a huge celebration of Sydney’s food scene. The event will be curated by Australia’s leading sustainable chef Matt Stone with a strong focus on local produce and 40 of Sydney’s most acclaimed bars, restaurants and producers are joining forces for what is sure to be an evening to remember. Some Sydney favourites that are setting up shop include Anason, Rockpool Bar and Grill Cantina OK! and Rising Sun Workshop. The annual Bastille Festival returns this winter and it’s bringing a massive French-themed celebration to town from July 13-17. Over hundred vendors will be on site with stalls stocked with cheese, crepes, wine and more. Entertainment is also covered with live bands, DJs, dance and street performances. Plus warm up with a 1.4-kilometre wine-tasting tour around the Harbour with all the cheese and wine you can get your hands on. 3. Finders Keepers Autumn Winter Markets
The Finders Keepers market returns to Sydney this June showcasing local artists and designers in a sparkly new location. The Hordern Pavilion is set to be its new home and a number of small businesses from across NSW and Australia will come together for the three-day event from June 16-18. Famed for showcasing slow-made and conscious shopping from local creatives, the markets will feature a range of products including ceramics, art, fashion and food. They’re also celebrating their 15th year so the stallholder line-up is stacked. Amacyn Natural Perfume, Ant Haus Designs, Baked Earth Pottery and Botanik The Label are some local brands you’ll find at the venue. 4. Castle Hill Farmers & Fine Food Market
Another local market that’s worth spending a weekend morning at is the Castle Hill Farmers & Fine Food Market. With stalls boasting the very best produce and artisan fare, this local market takes place every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. Taking over the Castle Hill Showground, visitors can expect delicious morning brew, freshly cut blooms, an excellent variety of fresh herbs and spices, pastas, bread and more. While Bon Fromage is more a celebration of all things cheese, this year it’s coming to town with an exclusive cheese market so if you’re a bit of a turophile, you’ll want to mark June 1-3 on your calendar. A variety of cheeses will be on offer from creamy Camembert, tangy Fourme d’Ambert, nutty Comté and much more along with excellent French wines to wash it all down. Even better, it’s happening at the Overseas passenger terminal which means you’ll be snacking on all the cheese while surrounded by harbour views and more (it coincides with Vivid this year so expect a glowy experience). The Cambridge Markets at the Entertainment Quarter have it all. The team behind this market has set up some of the most popular markets in town so market enthusiasts are in good hands. Pick up your groceries and some farm-fresh food or nibble on gourmet treats every Wednesday and Saturday of the week from 8am to 2pm. Rosebery’s popular Cannery Markets relaunched earlier this month with their regular vendors returning and a selection of new vendors on board. If you haven’t attended this eclectic market, it takes place on the first Saturday and Sunday of the month in a warehouse-style space and it’s a near guarantee you’ll find something fun to take home.
