Canberra-based blues rockers Jack Biilmann & The Black Tide have released their new single ‘Eric (Long Live The King)’.
A high-energy track with plenty of swagger that was written about Biilmann’s beloved blue heeler, this electrifying tune has soaring vocals and big guitar chops – grabbing the attention of ’90s garage rock lovers, the blues and your dog who will suddenly expect you to write a song for them also.
“A song about my best friend. . . it’s a rocker. Super proud of the riffs, hook, melody and the ripping performances of Pat, Jono and Joel in The Black Tide,” Jack says.
‘Eric (Long Live The King)’ follows ‘Hot Blood’ that was the first offering from Biilmann’s upcoming concept album ‘Divided Mind’ (out 16 June).
The record is split into two sections. Side A features a collection of acoustic tracks from Jack. While Side B is a powerful re-entrance to the blues/ rock arena with the newly formed backing band The Black Tide.
Next week, Jack Biilmann & The Black Tide will commence a tour that will visit Canberra, Queanbeyan, Melbourne, Wollongong, Sydney, Newcastle, Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Brisbane, and a number of other bush towns.
That tour will also see Jack and band play Wanderer Festival, which returns to the Sapphire Coast this spring for three days (in late September) of glorious live music and hangs with your bestie buds featuring the likes of The Jungle Giants, Kevin Morby, Babe Rainbow, C.W. Stoneking, Haiku Hands, Kim Churchill, Montaigne, Ocean Alley, and Thelma Plum.
Here, Jack shares a few touristy things you can do in the area.
1: Visit the Pambula River mouth
You’ll be hard pressed to find a more beautiful beach. You’ll see colours that you didn’t know existed.
2: Get a Wild Rye’s pie
The Wild Rye’s bakery in Pambula is a Far South Coast institution. Get in early but they sell out every day, enough said.
3: Have a schooner at The Top Pub, Pambula
The centre of every good community is a good pub. The Top Pub has cold beer, great food and looks after the mighty Pambula Blue Dogs Cricket Club and Pambula Panthers Football Club.
4: Take your special someone to Banksia Restaurant in Pambula
The best fine dining feed on the Far South Coast.
5: Eat some Pambula rock oysters
The Far South Coast is world famous for its oysters. Find out why.
Wanderer Festival returns to Pambula Beach (Sapphire Coast) 29 September to 1 October.
