Model Preview
For the 2024 model year, we expect the Cadillac XT5 to arrive without any significant changes. The current XT5 belongs to the first generation of the SUV that was introduced for the 2017 model. The XT5 is set to enter its seventh model year on sale in its current generation.
The exterior design of the Cadillac XT5 features the brand’s previous design language. The compact SUV has swept-back headlights that match ridges in the hood, a shield-shaped grille, and sporty lines on the front fascia. Along the side, the XT5 features a prominent body line that starts at the front fender and connects to the rear taillights. At the back, the XT5 has R-shaped taillights, dual exhaust outlets, and a shield-shaped cutout in the liftgate. We expect the current XT5’s exterior design to go unchanged for 2024. For the new model year, the XT5 will be available in new exterior colors that are called Emerald Lake Metallic and Midnight Sky Metallic. Both will cost extra.
On the inside, the current Cadillac XT5 has a dated design that should remain the same for the 2024 model year. The tiered dashboard has a top portion that houses the air vents and swoops up as it reaches the instrument cluster. The central touchscreen sits inside the dashboard, while physical controls for the HVAC system are located directly below the touchscreen. The center console follows the shape of a V as it flows into the transmission tunnel. Interior materials in the XT5 don’t match some of its rivals.
We don’t expect Cadillac to make any changes to the XT5’s tech features for 2024. The compact SUV should continue to come with an eight-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, four USB ports, an HD Radio, satellite radio, eight audio speakers, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Available features will include an eight-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, navigation, and a 14-speaker audio system.
The standard engine in the current Cadillac XT5 is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 235 horsepower. The SUV is available with a 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine. Both engines come with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The XT5 comes with front-wheel drive as standard and is available with all-wheel drive. These engines should continue to be available for 2024.
Standard safety features on the current Cadillac XT5 include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam assist, and parking sensors. These features should continue to be standard for 2024. Available safety features include a surround-view parking camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, night vision, hands-free park assist, a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, and rear collision warning.
