Makes a statement

It was more of the same as the first half ended. Xavier took a 48-34 lead into halftime.

So smooth

Jones dropped a beautiful touch pass to Jerome Hunter for an easy lay-in, extending the Musketeers’ lead to 55-40.

Too tough

The Musketeers came after that at both endsand forces his way through one Pitt defender after another.

Finally, Pitt cut the lead to just eight points, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback. Xavier secured the win by double digits, punching its ticket to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2017.
