Bob Murphy has officially been inducted into the Footscray-Western Bulldogs Hall of Fame.
The former Bulldogs skipper and 312-gamer was announced as an inductee last month, but has now been formally recognised at the 2023 gala event on Saturday night.
Murphy was a composed and versatile utility renowned for his leadership qualities both on and off the field.
Across an 18-year career at Whitten Oval, the one-club player bagged 183 goals from his 300+ games – becoming the seventh player in Club history to notch up the triple ton.
Murphy captained the side for three seasons, including the year of the drought-breaking premiership success in 2016 despite missing the Grand Final through injury.
He claimed All Australian selection in 2011 and 2015 (captain) and finished runner-up in the 2011 Charles Sutton Medal.
Established in 2010, the Footscray-Western Bulldogs Hall of Fame honours those whose involvement and contribution to the Club has been significant, memorable and worthy of celebration.
