Here are the top five stories today in Douglasville:
- A DeKalb County man who went missing last month was recently found dead in Douglasville. Douglas County police discovered the body of 21-year-old Keontae Chenault on May 30 but did not immediately identify the victim. The incident is still being investigated by Douglas County officials. - The Douglasville Police Department is hosting a Youth Against Violence Program for children ages 13-19. The program equips participants with tools to transition into adulthood while avoiding self-destructive behaviors of all kinds. - Celebrate dads with the City of Douglasville during the Father’s Day Brunch on Sunday, Jun. 11. Stop by the Alice J. Hawthorne Community Center at Jessie Davis Park between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for Father’s Day activities designed specifically for adults over age 50. - The 2023 Georgia Games Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, Jun. 24, in Hunter Park from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participants will need to bring their own bait, tackle, and fishing rods to compete. - Having fun isn’t hard when you’ve got a library card! The Douglas County branches of the West Georgia Regional Library System have plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy.
