Here are the top three stories in Lafayette today:
- Professor Jennifer L. Adams, an expert in relationship communication at DePauw University, has released a book chronicling the discovery of a collection of love letters between Lillian Friedman of Lafayette and Harold Kurtin, a couple from the 1930s. Adams spent over a decade researching their lives to locate their only descendant. The book intertwines the couple’s intimate letters with the author’s personal reflections, shedding light on their lives during the Jazz Age, the Great Depression, and Prohibition, and advocating for the art of letter writing. - Two teenagers are in the process of recovering after a golf cart accident at the Ravines Golf Course in Tippecanoe County. The incident occurred when the golf cart they were traveling in left a bridge, rolled down an embankment, and landed in a ravine. While one teenager sustained minor injuries and received on-site medical attention, the other teenager was airlifted to IU Arnett Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (WLFI 8 News)
- The 2023 Taste of Tippecanoe brought the downtown of Lafayette to life with the enticing aroma of food and vibrant live music. The event featured numerous local vendors offering delicious food and drinks, attracting a large crowd and supporting the Tippecanoe County Arts Federation. Attendees enjoyed a range of musical performances while indulging in culinary delights, creating a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and conversation. (The Exponent)
